Terms of Service
Plain-English terms for using Essentials for Safari. Reading the whole thing takes about two minutes.
1. The deal
You buy Essentials once on the Mac App Store and may use it on every Mac signed into your Apple ID, including those of family members in your Family Sharing group, in accordance with Apple's standard end-user license. The app is yours; the license is non-transferable.
2. What we promise
We will ship updates and bug fixes for as long as Essentials is sold on the App Store. We aim to support the two most recent major versions of macOS, but make no warranty that any future macOS or Safari release will be supported. If we ever stop selling Essentials, we will publish one final update that removes any remaining sync dependency so your local copy keeps working.
3. What you agree not to do
- Reverse engineer or repackage the app for redistribution.
- Use Essentials to violate someone else's rights or local law.
- Abuse our support email — we read every message and would prefer to keep doing so.
4. iCloud sync
If you enable sync, your data lives in your private iCloud storage container. We have no access to it. Apple's iCloud terms apply to that storage; ours do not.
5. Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. We will honor any refund Apple grants.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
Essentials is provided "as is." We've tested it carefully and use it ourselves every day, but software has bugs. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
7. Limitation of liability
Our maximum liability for any claim related to the app is the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
8. Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, the "Last updated" date at the top changes and we note the change in the changelog. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Venue for any dispute lies in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas.
